The Drex Drop - 3rd Edition

The Drex Drop

Introduction:

Hello Survivors, and welcome back to another edition of our Drexonica-exclusive community crunch, The Drex Drop. This month is a big one, packed with updates, changes, and brand new content across the cluster. One important change before we dive in. Moving forward, The Drex Drop will include updates for both Ark Survival Ascended and Ark Survival Evolved, allowing the entire community to stay informed from one central source.

Now that everyone is on the same page, let’s jump right in.

Server News & Updates

Event Calendar & Consistent Events:

The highly anticipated event schedule has now dropped on our discord. It is definitely a change from pop-up events or weekly events. This type of posting allows players to know ahead of time what events are coming to the community & on what days. We will still post a weekly schedule of sorts so players can get all the specifics that won’t fit within the little 1x1 box on the calendar.

From now on for the remainder of the year we will be posting an event calendar on the 1st of every month. Additionally the 1st will align with the start of the monthly build contest, and the information drop for the battle of the beasts event. What is the battle of the beasts? Battle of the beasts is a pvp event focusing on base stat dinos, built up only by careful breeding. This allows the breeders on the cluster to have something to work towards each and every month! Specific dinos for each month will be posted sometime on the 1st as well as the specifics on the event for those that haven’t joined in before.

Donations & Discord Booster Bundles:

Speaking of the 1st of the month, we also will have updated discord booster bundles on the 1st of every month. Alongside that we will have our donation goals & bonuses channel reset each month on the 1st. Now this is a new addition slightly touched on last week, but basically it is a way for the community to earn rewards via donating. The goal amounts set for the donations are to cover the current server costs. There are 3 different goals and when we receive donations via: Patreon, Drexonica.com, Mee6 bot, CashApp, or Paypal the amounts will be updated. When a goal is hit the entire server will benefit! Note: Any donations exceeding the monthly goal will go towards the next month’s goals, so you guys can start with a boost!

1st Goal Rewards:

- +10% Admin Currency on One-Time Donations (Monthly Subscribers already get boosted Admin Currency)

- +20% Admin Currency for Winning Events

- ASA Exclusive: +15% Hourly & Salary Bonus

2nd Goal Rewards:

Astraeos, The Trouble Child Continued:

Astraeos is still giving me trouble, but do not stress. All of your items and dinos are safely stored away on my computer and we are working on getting our self-hosting software back online to get the map back up as Nitrado is failing to assist. Testing should begin Monday night as that is when the HDD for the PC should be here. Until then I will continue to work daily to get the map back up via Nitrado (restarting the server via save file as I type this, haha).

Starter Package Updates:

To celebrate our 5th anniversary we have updated our starter packages to give new players some fun-colored tames to start with! Instead of a basic beige colored tame, players will now be able to choose from 5 different brightly colored griffins for their flyer starter. This is a slight change to the ASA packages as the previous flyer starter was an argentavis.

Additionally all starter packages will contain a rare chibi, and ASE players will get a sinomacrops to assist with death bag recovery. These changes are slowly working across ASE & the coding for the ASA website is in progress. I will also be working on building an in-person starter center for ASA as I know some players experience issues collecting their starters via the website.

Ninja's Auctions:

Another fun addition to the community is Ninja’s Auctions. Basically I made the decision that if I am online to host an in-person event and no one shows, I will tame at least a cryofridge worth of dinos in the timeframe the event should have run. The tames will then either be auctioned off as singles/pairs or as mystery cryofridges at the end of each month. The currency for the auctions will be element dust for ASE & BBS for ASA. Specifics will be posted with each auction regarding levels, colors, dino variety, etc.

Tickets Facelift:

With all the new additions to the discord I thought another update was in order for our tickets. Over the past few months I have personally struggled a little when going between multiple tickets, multiple screens, etc. So to help myself, the admin team, and the community we made the following changes to tickets.

#1. Green or Red Circle - At the front of each ticket there will be a red circle. This is an indication of the ticket being “unclaimed”. When a member of the staff gets to your ticket they will then “claim” it and the circle will turn green. This lets other staff know the ticket is being handled, and also informs the player that the admins have messaged or are working on their ticket.

#2. Username in ticket name - This change is more so for the admin team, as it was mighty confusing going from ticket to ticket trying to find a specific player’s ticket. This way we can see your name right on the ticket and will help prevent any confusion or delays!

#3. Ticket Stats - When you open a ticket it will take a live accounting of all the tickets we have open as well as an average response time for tickets. The ladder I am unsure if it is accurate as the stats haven’t changed since applying it to the server. This feature might be altered later BUT the idea is for players to know if it is a busy day for us, or if there might be a longer wait on their ticket.

Event Corner

Past Events Highlight

On ASE we had a great turnout this past week for events. Last Sunday we hosted Egg Glide with a turnout of 9 players all of which were racing to make it to the end of the wyvern trench on foot with only a glider/parachute and their wits. After Egg Glide we also hosted the Parkour Event on Center which had 5-6 players come join us. In this event players had to use only their skills to navigate the jumping puzzle on The Center. No ziplines, no grappling hooks, no parachutes. If you misstepped Level 10000000000 megalodons were in the lava awaiting a snack.

Note From the Admin Team

Friendly reminder for ASA Players on Tribe Flags: While doing map checks on ASA I have been finding more and more bases without tribe flags. Many of these might have been old bases, but I worry about wiping new players who haven’t gotten a flag yet. To help encourage new members to get their tribe flags, I will be revising the individual welcome messages players receive when joining the server, possibly adding some reminder broadcasts twice a day or something.

Survivor Tip of the Week

If your base feels empty, it probably needs more dinos. Emotional support creatures are very real.

Wildcard Community Crunch Recap

Astraeos

This week’s community crunch was a short one in which they revealed a new boss coming to the Astraeos map with the upcoming expansion. True to the theme, a hydra is joining the map as the ultimate test for survivors. This boss looks awesome, if only it was a tameable creature. (Hey, one can dream.)

Closing Message

Thank you guys for reading and I hope this update wasn’t too much of a thic boii. Lots of fun changes & information to cover this month. The next post hopefully won’t be as long, but beware of the valentines day vibes. Love Ascended is just around the corner!

Until next time, survivors.
